Most people that spend time betting on baseball would have never seen the outcome of the AL Central as of today coming. The White Sox, a team many felt that would be a work in progress, sit in first, while the Indians, who were downright awful in the spring, are just 0.5 games back in second place.
The real shocker is that of the Tigers, who have been downright awful to this point with injuries, poor play, and a lack of big hits with the game on the line. Detroit is a team that is reeling, and so far Prince Fielder, their offseason huge pickup, has done well, but the rest of the squad is not picking up the slack.
So just who is going to step up and take the Central? Not even at the All-Star break yet, but all three teams seem to have their good and their bad, and many baseball fans are wondering which one is finally going to start playing like a true contender.
The Indians are in the mix, with their pitching and young stars like Jason Kipnis, all this team needs to do is keep playing good baseball, and if they can get hot in the second half, there’s no doubt this team can find itself playing into October.
