Sizemore Done; Carmona’s Option Picked Up for 2012

The Indians today announced the club has exercised the 2012 club option on RHP FAUSTO CARMONA. Also today the Indians declined the 2012 club option of OF GRADY SIZEMORE, who is now eligible for free agency.

Carmona went 3-5 w/a 4.49 ERA in his final 15 starts (86.1IP, 93H, 43ER) of 2012 from July 1st thru the end of the season and had a combined ERA of 2.93 (55.1IP, 50H, 18ER) in July and August. He has made at least 32 starts and logged more than 188.0 innings over each of the last two seasons in 2010 and 2011. Overall in 2011 he went 7-15 w/a 5.25 ERA in 32 starts (188.2IP, 205H, 110ER, 60BB, 109K).

Carmona is now signed through the 2012 season with club options for 2013 and 2014.

    Grady could be quite a steal for another club. When he’s healthy, he’s still a sold player.
